Show Horse Council Newcomers

2012 SHC Newcomers

It is anticipated that the 2012 SHC WA Newcomers will be held in May.

The Qualifying Period commences on 28 April 2011 and will cease on a date in 2012, being the date of close of entries (approximately 1 month prior to the event).

2011 Lilydale Road Debutante (Newcomers)

This event is open to all official horse / ponies in their first year of competition.

Qualifying Requirements: Horse / pony is required to have attended two official show fixtures run by a SHC WA affiliate club within the qualifying period.
Qualifying Period 2011: 30 April 2010 – 27 April 2011
Note: the 2012 qualifying period commences on 28 April 2011

Eligibility Requirements: The onus is on the owner / exhibitor / representative to make sure that their horse / pony is eligible to compete in this event.

  1. The horse must be registered with the Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. National Saddle Horse Register prior to close of entries on 27 April 2011.
  2. The rider and owner / lessee must be a financial member of Show Horse Council WA Inc. prior to the close of entries and on the day of competition.
  3. The horse / pony must not have competed under saddle in any discipline (racing excepted), either official or unofficial prior to the commencement of the qualifying period, that is 30 April 2010.

Rules & Conditions of Entry: In addition to the rules outlined in the Program all competitors must take note of the SHC Australasia Inc. 2011 Show Horse Council Classic (Qualifier for Grand Nationals 2012)

Qualifying Requirements: No qualifying points are required to enter this Show.

Eligibility Requirements: The onus is on the owner / exhibitor / representative to make sure that their horse / pony is eligible to compete in this event:

  1. All horses must be registered with the Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. National Saddle Horse Register or the NSH Application be in the hands of the NSH Registrar at Close of Entries. 
If NSH Registration is pending a copy of the NSH Application 
MUST accompany the Entry or it will not be accepted.
  2. The rider of mounts and owner/lessee of horses competing MUST be current financial members of a Show Horse Council Affiliate (eg SHC WA or any other SHC Affiliate Australia wide) at close of entries and on the day of competition.
  3. Lead Rein – Rider to be 3 years and under 8 years. Handler (to be 18 years or over) and rider must be a financial member (Active Member) of a Show Horse Council Affiliate (eg SHC WA or any other SHC Affiliate Australia wide) at close of entries and on the day of competition.

This Show shall be run in accordance with the Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. Competition Rules and the Rules pertaining to the Show Horse Council of WA Inc. - the Show Horse Council Classic 2011 as detailed in the Show Schedule. 2011 Show Horse Council Horse of the Year

Date: 29 & 30 October 2011

Performance/Qualifying Requirements for Entry in the OPEN Show Horse Classes, the OPEN Show Hunter Classes and the Leading Rein Pony Class.

Open Show Hack/Galloway/Pony Classes — 15 points to be gained at three or more shows under two different judges in Show Horse classes in either height, weight, lady’s, gent’s, boys, girls or childs. Points gained in novice and intermediate classes do not count.

Open Show Hunter Hack/Galloway/Pony Classes — 10 points to have been gained at three or more shows under two different judges in Show Hunter classes in either height, weight, lady’s, gent’s, boys, girls or childs. Points gained in novice and intermediate classes do not count.

Leading Rein Pony Class — 5 points to have been gained at two or more shows under two different judges from Leading Rein Pony classes only (points gained in Leading Rein Smartest on Parade and Leading Rein Rider classes do not count). No points are required to enter the Leading Rein Smartest on Parade.

All qualifying points must have been gained in Western Australia.

Any number of riders who are Show Horse Council of WA Inc. financial members may qualify the horse/pony but only one rider must be nominated to compete in the preliminary and final.

Points must be gained from a Show Horse Council of WA Inc. Affiliated show, WA Agricultural Show or Perth Royal.

Points shall be allocated 1st – 3 points, 2nd – 2 points, 3rd – 1 point. Novice, intermediate or maiden classes cannot be counted for points. Points can only be counted from height, weight, ladies and gents, boys, girls or childs classes.

Champion & Reserve Champion points DO NOT count for qualifying requirements in any section.

Rider and Foundation Classes DO NOT require a Performance to be submitted.

Leading Rein Pony Class – Pony to be 12hh and under; Rider to be 3 years and under 8 years as at the date of competition; and Handler to be 18 years or over as at the date of competition.

Foundation Classes Eligibility Criteria – a Foundation Hack/Hunter is one that has not been placed 1st, Champion or Reserve in an Open Ridden Hack/Hunter class at any Royal Show or has never been the winner or runner-up at the Grand National, or the winner or runner-up at any State HOY title (including EA HOY) or has never been the winner or runner-up of any Grand National Qualifier (including Gosnells Masters and SHC Classic) as at the date of competition.

Special Awards – the Sam Callander Memorial Trophy to be awarded to a New Season Large Pony, to be judged during the Preliminary Section by the presiding pony judge (and not all 3 judges). The Vynka Hohnen Memorial Trophy to be awarded to a New Season Hack over 15hh, to be judged during the Preliminary Section by the presiding hack judge (and not all 3 judges). Competitors to mark the entry form to indicate eligibility.
