Show Horse Council Horse of the Year 2008
25th & 26th October 2008

The HOY program is now available on the website under Forms and includes the event list, entry forms, performance record sheets and the rules. By popular request Turnout and Led classes have been returned to the program. We will be looking for support for these classes in order to retain them in the future.

Entries close 10th September 2008. No late, faxed or e-mailed entries will be accepted.

Before you send your entry in please make sure you have read the rules and go through the Entry Check List to ensure all requirements have been met. Entries that are not complete or have incorrect information may be returned and a handling fee charged.

Presentations
Please note that changing of rider during any presentations will not be permitted (rule 50 refers). Presentations for the Open classes will be held at the end of the day and all finalists, with a rider on board, will be marshaled together but the presentations will be staggered with one section being presented at a time. Those sections not being presented will be held in a marshalling area, this will enable riders who have more than one horse/pony to change mounts between sections outside of the actual presentation area. Any riders who have more than one mount in a section will require a substitute rider for the presentations (as riders will not be able to change mounts during the presentation).

Rider Classes
Please note rule 45 – ONE RIDER ONE HORSE, that is two riders cannot ride the same horse.

With the Leading Rein Pony now a Grand National Qualifier, performance requirements have been introduced.

A Performance/Qualifying Requirement is required for Entry in the OPEN Show Horse Classes, the OPEN Show Hunter Classes and the Leading Rein Pony Class.

ENTRIES FROM MINORS:
All Entrants should note the following Rule will apply for entries from Minors:

Membership for 2008/2009

Posted by admin on 16-June-08

Please note that membership renewals for the 2008/2009 year are due by 31 July 2008. Any renewals received after 31 July 2008 will incur a late payment fee.

Non Rider/Non Competitor Member - the Show Horse Council of Australasia has advised all affiliates that for insurance purposes this type of membership is for those who do not ride a horse at any time and do not compete as a rider or handler in competition or events. Anyone who rides a horse (at any time and in any situation, not just in competition) must join as a Rider/Competitor Member. A definition (as provided by SHC Australasia) of what a Non Rider/Non Competitor Member means has been included on the Membership Application form. This will mean that a number of members who are currently Non Rider Members should actually be Rider/Competitor Members. In view of this the SHC WA has revised their fee structure for 2008/2009 to reduce the cost to members and families.

Please read the Membership Application form carefully and ensure that your membership application is a true account of your situation.

When completing your Membership Application please remember:

  • one form per person;
  • a waiver form is required for each member;
  • where the member is under 18 years of age the application and waiver forms must be signed by the parent/guardian; and
  • to complete all information and sign both forms (or your application will be returned).

The 2008/2009 Membership Application and Waiver forms are now available from our 'forms' page.

SHC Classic and Europa Gift Results

Posted by admin on 29-May-08

Results for both shows have now been posted. Go to our results page for more details. Photos are also available from Lorelle Mercer www.lorellemercer.com.au and Rob Duncan www.horsetales.com.au.
We hope to have some photos up on our site soon.

Well done to all competitors and congratulations to the winners. Hope everyone enjoyed the weekend. Although the weather was not exactly kind to us on the Saturday morning we were fortunate not to have any rain on the Sunday.

Overall the committee felt combining the Europa Gift and the SHC Classic was successful and although the lunch break on Saturday was rather late with some re-arranging of the schedule we will be looking to continue to combine these shows in 2009.

A BIG THANK YOU TO ALL VOLUNTEERS AND HELPERS, without you we would not be able to run these shows.

Feedback, comments, suggestions all welcome, please take the time to send your thoughts to us at info@showhorsecouncilwa.com.au

It would be appreciated if anyone who had a bunk room or booked extra stable days and did not pay for them at the show could please forward money owing (with the details) to SHC WA PO Box 343 Cottesloe WA 6911.
