Grand National Qualifier - 30 & 31 May 2009

The SHC Classic is one of only 4 shows run in WA that is a Grand National Qualifier. Champions and reserves champions in all open Show Horse and Show Hunter sections and Leading Rein Pony class, along with the winners and runner ups from all Rider classes qualify for the 2010 Grand National Championships.

Qualifying Requirements: No qualifying points are required to enter this Show.

Eligibility Requirements: The onus is on the owner/exhibitor/representative to make sure that their horse/pony is eligible to compete in this event:

• The horse must be registered with the Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. National Saddle Horse Register prior to close of entries (due to insufficient time the new rule that registration must be completed 2 months prior to close of entries will not apply to this show).
  
• The rider and owner/lessee must be a financial member of Show Horse Council WA Inc. prior to close of entries and on the day of competition.
  
• Leading Rein – Rider to be 3 years and under 8 years. Handler (to be 18 years or over) and rider must be a financial member of Show Horse Council WA Inc. prior to close of entries and on the day of competition.

Conditions of Entry:

• Horses / Ponies current Show Horse Council WA height certificate must be attached to the entry form (copy only)
  
• Horse registration papers with the Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. National Saddle Horse register must be attached to the entry form (copy only)
  
• Show Horse Council of WA Inc. membership number for owner / exhibitor / representative / rider must be included on entry form – entry is for members only
  
• Horses / Ponies can only compete in either Show Hunter or Show Horse Classes

The SHC Australasia Inc. General Competition Rules will apply, unless precluded by rules or conditions of entry specific for this show, The Show Horse Council Classic 2009. Rules specific to this show are outlined in the Show Schedule.

REGISTRATION on the SHC NATIONAL SADDLE HORSE REGISTER and SHC GRAND NATIONAL QUALIFIER SHOWS

At a meeting of the SHC of Australasia on 3 March 2009 it was determined that at all future SHC Grand National Qualifier Shows the following new rule will apply and the relevant Show Program’s Conditions of Entry clearly state this requirement.

“All horses being entered in Hack, Show Hunter, Led & Rider Competition at this SHC Affiliate Grand National Qualifying Show, are required to be registered with The National Saddle Horse Register no less than two (2) calendar months prior to the closing date of the Show. (Only exception is Breed Classes).”

This Rule will not apply to any current Event where Rules are already circulated and time frame is insufficient.

This is an important change, please don’t leave it to the last moment to NSH register your horses. There will be no more ‘Pending’ nominations received after the cut off period.

The first clinic for 2009 is being held on 10/11 April with interstate instructor, Helen DeBroughe.

The Show Horse Council of WA's Newcomers event is to be held on the weekend of 30^th and 31^st May 2009.

This event is open to all official horses / ponies in their first year of competition.

Sections include:
Show Horse: Small and Large Pony, Galloway and Hack
Show Hunter: Small and Large Pony, Galloway and Hack

Qualifying period: 10 May 2008 to 8 May 2009

Qualifying Requirements:

• No points are necessary.
• For entry to Show Horse classes proof of attendance at two official shows, under two different judges in Show Horse classes prior to close of entries.
• For entry to Show Hunter classes proof of attendance at two official shows, under two different judges in Show Hunter classes prior to close of entries.

Eligibility Requirements: The onus is on the owner / exhibitor / representative to make sure that their horse / pony is eligible to compete in this event.

• The horse must be registered with the Show Horse Council of Australasia Inc. National Saddle Horse Register prior to close of entries.
• The rider and owner / lessee must be a financial member of Show Horse Council of WA Inc. prior to close of entries and on the day of competition.
• The horse / pony must not have competed in any discipline, either official or unofficial prior to the commencement of the qualifying period, that is 10 May 2008.
